Today, as Forest Hill Heights transforms into a mixed-income, mixed-use development, it continues that legacy of contribution and resilience.
The new vision honors the families who built lives here, creating a place where opportunity, dignity, and community rise together once again at this historic intersection of Durham’s past and future.
A Master Planned Community Honoring The Past. Building The Future.
Tribute Rising is envisioned as a vibrant mixed-income, mixed-use community located at 700 South Mangum Street in Durham, North Carolina.
This multi-phased, transformative development will reimagine the site of the former Forest Hills Heights public housing community, creating a modern neighborhood with an estimated 900 homes across affordable, workforce, and market-rate housing.
Phase 1 will consist of 332 units market-rate and affordable units.
100 income restricted units reserved for renters earning up to 50 and 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).
